Background and industry experience

Tom is an Associate based in the Market Harborough office having joined Fisher German in 2018. He is a Member of RICS and the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) and holds an MSc (distinction) in Rural Estate Management from the Royal Agricultural University, having completed his undergraduate studies in Geography and Environmental Science at Durham University.

Prior to joining Fisher German, Tom spent a decade working in sustainability with a particular focus on renewable energy, energy efficiency and carbon reporting. This included five years working for the Country Land and Business Association (CLA) as Renewable Energy Policy Adviser.

Having qualified as a chartered surveyor, Tom now combines his background and extensive knowledge of sustainability with his interest in the land and property sector to assist clients across the business. Tom's work includes rural estate management, as well as specialist advice on sustainable energy, building energy performance and natural capital in particular carbon and biodiversity net gain. Tom leads on Fisher German's Delivering Net Zero service, assisting commercial property owners with energy performance compliance.

Tom remains involved with the CLA sitting on the Leicestershire and Rutland CLA regional committee and was co-opted to a CLA National Committee for 2022. He undertook the Worshipful Company of Farmers Challenge of Rural Leadership in 2016.

Tom lives in south Warwickshire near to the small family farm on which he was brought up. Outside of work he is interested in history, walking and training his Labrador, as well as a rural pursuits and enjoys and range of sports, particularly rugby.
