Background and industry experience

Simon joined Fisher German in March 2015 to work with a range of landowners and corporate clients on commercial management, land rights and compensation matters.

He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and an RICS Registered Valuer with over fourteen years industry experience comprising commercial / rural general practice and specialist utilities work. He started out at a small commercial firm in Derby before moving on to a Grantham based practice to undertake valuation work and act on behalf of national utility firms.

Simon now works in the compensation department dealing primarily with compulsory purchase / valuation work associated with regional transport schemes and nationally significant infrastructure projects. His clients range from residential occupiers to large landowners / commercial operators such as national airports and power station developers.

Having an undergraduate degree in history and politics, and an MA in property and building surveying, Simon lives in rural Derbyshire with his wife and daughter. He is a keen sportsman and long-suffering Derby County fan, attending matches whenever time permits! He enjoys Country pursuits, undertaking home improvements and walking the two family dogs in the Derbyshire countryside.
