Background and industry experience

Nia joined Fisher German's Chester team as a Graduate Planner in September 2018, after graduating from the University of Liverpool, completing an integrated masters in Town and Regional Planning MPlan (Hons). Nia successfully passed her RTPI APC in December 2020 becoming Chartered and gaining MRTPI status. Nia was awarded RTPI North West Young Planner of the Year 2022, and now is the team lead for the North West Planning team covering Chester, Knutsford, Liverpool and Manchester offices. Nia leads on planning projects across both the North West and North Wales, having substantial experience with both Welsh and English planning systems. Nia lives in North Wales and has successfully grown the Welsh planning offering at Fisher German.

Nia became a National Farmers Union (NFU) Ambassador in August 2020 and was one of the lucky eleven voicing the next generation of farming. Nia is now the NFU Clwyd County representative for the NFU Rural Affairs Board in Wales. Nia also sits on the RTPI North West Regional Activities Committee and is an RTPI Planning Awards Judge for the North West following her successful win.

Why did you join Fisher German?
I completed a short placement in 2017 after which I could see Fisher German are highly regarded within the industry. After spending time with the Chester team, I could see everyone was friendly and welcoming and had full intentions to apply for the graduate position to progress my career in the firm.

Water filter - at least you'd be able to survive!
