Background and industry experience

Carl is the IT Director at Fisher German. His responsibilities are to oversee the use of technology throughout the business including its development and implementation. This includes all Information Technology systems and practices such as the service desk, IT infrastructure, IT communications, software applications (hosted In-house and Cloud based), IT change management and digitalisation.

He is a Chartered IT Professional, and during his career has undertaken most IT roles in many different sectors across a diverse range of businesses. This has included the construction and housebuilding sector (Bowmer & Kirkland Ltd, Galliford Try plc), the engineering and rail sector (Costain plc) and most recently the distribution and manufacturing sector within the UK arm of SIG plc.

Originally from Nottingham, he now lives with his partner in Derbyshire their three cats and a few happily retired battery farm chickens. Carl relaxes to all kinds of music and films, enjoys travelling, dining with friends and the occasional pint (pulled from the beer engine in his Covid project pub shed).

I was looking for a new challenge within a well-respected, growing, and vibrant business where I could make a real difference and reset my work/life balance.

What has been your favourite project and why?
There have been many... but implementing an award-winning installation of SAP Integrated Business Planning at SIG plc with a bunch of great people is one of them.
