Project summary
- A new Designer Outlet Centre in Grantham
- Fisher German were approached to undertake an appraisal of the existing retail site with subsequent instructions received for the project management, and preparation and submission of a planning application
- The project comprises the redevelopment of an existing retail site including the demolition of an existing distribution warehouse and garden centre, and the provision of a Designer Outlet Centre, with 107 retail outlets, offices, leisure unit, training academy, tourist information and visitor centre, with associated parking
Solution
- The planning team have worked alongside a number of sub-consultants to seek to demonstrate to the Local Planning Authority that there are no technical barriers to the proposed development
- In preparing the application, which comprised EIA development and therefore necessitated the preparation of an Environmental Statement, the project also included pre-application meetings with Officers and Members of SKDC and a public consultation event. A good working relationship has been developed
