Description
St Hilda's Cottage is a pretty red brick home with a slate roof standing behind a stone wall directly overlooking the village green. The original building has ancient origins, but was considerably extended to the rear at the turn of the last century to allow a spacious and modern layout while retaining good sized front and rear gardens.
Planning consent has been applied for to alter the front wall to allow vehicular access and parking for 2 cars on the front garden.
To the side of the cottage is a patio opening directly off the kitchen and a useful brick built outhouse in two sections, each with separate door. The rear garden is open and sunny and very private.

Accommodation
A half glazed front door opens onto the entrance hall, with beams to ceiling and doors to the study, sitting room and kitchen. Stairs lead to the first floor landing.

The study or snug is a pretty room overlooking the front and featuring a large inglenook style brick fireplace, with fitted gas fire and shelved alcoves on either side. Spacious understair storage cupboard. Across the hallway is the charming double aspect sitting room which faces across The Green and the very private back garden. The open fireplace has a cast iron surround with a built-in glass display cupboard to one side.

The kitchen is in the recently extended part of the house and is a particular feature with ample room for a sofa and a large dining table. Double doors open out onto a paved patio which is ideal for outside dining, and there are ranges of hand-built pine floor units with worktops over and a two oven gas Aga. Double sink unit with plumbing for dishwasher. A rear hallway with quarry tiled floor and back door to the garden leads through to the utility/boot room, with plumbing for washing machine, gas central heating boiler, and Belfast sink. There are fitted shelves and ample room for boots, and coats. A door leads through to the guest cloakroom, with wc and basin.

On the first floor; all rooms are approached off a landing with lovely wide oak floor boards. The family bathroom is particularly spacious with a cast iron bath, pedestal basin and wc. There is a large airing cupboard with hot water cylinder and immersion heater, and a further deep linen cupboard.
The bathroom is shared by three bedrooms in the older, front portion of the house and the master suite of spacious bedroom and bathroom sits quietly at the back of the house overlooking the garden.

Outside
St Hilda's Cottage is set back from The Green behind a brick and stone retaining wall, with a good sized front garden. A pathway leads to the front door and around the house to the side patio which is approached through double doors from the kitchen. This area is bounded by a brick built outhouse, divided into two sections, each with its own door and providing useful storage space.

The rear garden provides a lovely open sunny space, bounded by a stone wall on one side and a close boarded fence. To one end there is an apple tree, and there are raised beds facing the house providing a wealth of colour and interest.
