Lilly Wilson, a surveyor from our rural property management team in Market Harborough, recently achieved an extraordinary challenge by participating in the Chiltern 50K Ultra Marathon. Not only did she complete the gruelling race, but she also secured an impressive 5th place overall and was the first female to cross the finish line. Her remarkable effort raised over £1,275 for Dementia UK, a cause close to her heart.
Lilly’s journey to the Chiltern 50K was fuelled by her passion for running and her commitment to making a difference. “Running has always been a way for me to challenge myself and push my limits,” Lilly said. “But this race was about more than just personal achievement. It was about supporting Dementia UK and the incredible work they do for families affected by dementia.”
The Chiltern 50K Ultra Marathon, known for its challenging terrain and scenic routes, tested Lilly’s endurance and determination. Despite the physical and mental demands of the race, Lilly remained focused on her goal. “There were moments where the race got progressively harder and the terrain became increasingly more challenging, forcing me to dig deep up the hills, but thinking about those I was running for kept me going,” she said. “Crossing that finish line was a proud moment, knowing that my efforts would help support such a vital cause.”
Senior Associate, Matthew Trembath, Lilly’s Line Manager, said: “Her dedication and success have inspired us. Lilly’s achievement is a testament to her work ethic and her commitment to making a positive impact.”
In addition to her impressive finish, Lilly’s fundraising efforts have made a significant contribution to Dementia UK. “I am so grateful for the support I’ve received from friends, family, and colleagues,” Lilly expressed. “Every donation, no matter how small, has made a difference. Together, we’ve raised over £1,275, which will go towards providing essential support and resources for those affected by dementia.”
Lilly’s story is a powerful reminder of the impact one person can make. Her determination, resilience, and compassion have not only brought her success but have also contributed to a cause that touches many lives. Lilly remains committed to using her passion for running to support charitable causes and inspire others to make a difference and is already considering competing in the Isle of Wight and Hadrian’s Wall next year.
