We are pleased to announce that we have appointed Ishfaq Hussain, a highly experienced lease advisory expert, to grow our service across Birmingham and the Midlands.
Ishfaq has joined as a partner in our central Birmingham office after a wide-ranging career in commercial lease advisory work, both in consultancy and client-side. He has represented household names such as the National Trust and the NFU, as well as high-net-worth individuals and investor landlords. He has also gained invaluable experience in the world of insolvency, representing Begbies Traynor amongst other clients. He has undertaken lease advisory work in London, the Midlands, Scotland and other parts of the UK.
One of his notable achievements was managing the property portfolio at Patisserie Valerie following its administration. He coordinated with institutional and private landlords as well as making arrangements with creditors to maintain supply chains following the company’s collapse in 2018, salvaging many jobs ultimately facilitating a pre-pack sale that retained the brand's value.
Ishfaq will now focus on identifying where we can improve our existing clients’ experience, with dedicated lease advisory services, and securing new work in Birmingham and the Midlands while recruiting talent to expand the team further.
Ishfaq said: “Fisher German’s growth ambitions and the unique opportunity to contribute to these plans were both pivotal in attracting me to the role. I am delighted to be joining Fisher German at this critical juncture for our clients in providing informed and insightful lease advisory services which will be required both on the landlord and the tenant side.
“My experience in many different aspects of commercial lease advisory will enable me to deliver the most informed advice for our clients, and I’m looking forward to using my strong network to help win more work for the firm.”
Partner and Head of Commercial Lease Advisory, Rupert Collis, added: “I am really excited about the arrival of Ishfaq, as his appointment continues to strengthen the existing commercial lease advisory services that we are currently offering across our office network.
“The Midlands is a key area for growth, and with Ishfaq joining the team, we will be well-placed to realise the opportunities in the region that we are already seeing with our commercial property management and infrastructure & utilities clients.
“This year will be fantastic as we see that growth in the Midlands and continue to deliver great results for existing and new clients alike.”
