The Team & Focus of the Role

We have an extremely exciting opportunity to come and join our Infrastructure Services division. The division assists in delivering projects to build a more sustainable and long-lasting Infrastructure for the UK on behalf of clients across of a range of different sectors including electricity, gas, water, fibre optics, oil, and renewables.

We pride ourselves on understanding our clients’ specific requirements and industry developments, as well as maintaining and developing our professional team and continuing the development of our systems to assist in high quality service delivery.

This role will be varied, with in-depth involvement in all project stages from feasibility, through to the design phase, during construction, and at project completion. It will give you the opportunity to work collaboratively to solve complex problems, to contribute to important infrastructure developments, and to further your professional experience.

You’ll be part of a team of around 25 motivated surveyors and support staff working within the North West, with 7 based in our Knutsford office, including Placement Students, Graduates, AssocRICS, and Chartered Surveyors from a variety of different surveying backgrounds.

Acting for a range of infrastructure clients in the North West, we are involved in a number of exciting, regionally and nationally important infrastructure projects at the forefront of the industry in sectors including gas, hydrogen, electricity, and water.

Based in Knutsford this is a permanent full-time position based on 37.5-hours (Monday – Friday), however we’re fully open to discussing part-time part and flexible working requirements (minimum 30 hours per week). We are also open to speaking to individuals from a broad range of surveying backgrounds.

Duties will include:

  • Managing land consultancy strategy and delivery for infrastructure projects from a local to national scale
  • Providing land consultancy advice and support to clients for different work types, such as maintenance of existing apparatus or installation of new equipment
  • Involvement in land consultancy activities from early optioneering through to project completion, including land referencing, preparation and service of statutory notices, negotiation of compensation, and advice on reinstatement
  • Communicating directly with landowners, advising clients on all aspects of their interactions with them, inputting to wider stakeholder management strategies, and dealing with public enquiries
  • Reporting directly to clients, including through formal report structures, KPI reporting, and day-to-day communications
  • Negotiation and acquisition of land and rights to facilitate projects, including CPO/DCO
  • Supporting on wider ‘non-client’ projects across the business
  • Contributing to project/team level financial reporting, and invoicing
  • Supporting the training and mentoring of our graduates in the team to help them achieve their goals

The successful candidate will have...

  • MRICS or AssocRICS qualifications (preferably)
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the confidence to communicate and negotiate effectively at all levels
  • The ability to self-manage in order to meet deadlines
  • Experience in building strong, lasting relationships, networking and promoting the business
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to influence decisions
  • Outstanding prioritisation and organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Great verbal and written communication
