Fifteen people represented us in the Severn Trent Mountain Challenge on Saturday 9 July. Members of our Land and Planning Consultancy team who work with Severn Trent Water, took part plus two furry friends, Nellie and Taz.
Four teams competed against each other on the trek which started at Hope Valley College and then across the beautiful Dark Peak area of the Peak District in Derbyshire. They followed pathways around Nether Booth and Edale, passing through numerous check points ending up back at the college. Our teams took part in the 20 and 30 mile walking options, rising to just over 2,000 ft.
Severn Trent Water (STW), one of our largest clients, organise the challenge annually to raise funds for WaterAid, a charity which partners with organisations across the globe to provide clean water, decent toilets, and good hygiene. They were one of the founding firms behind WaterAid and they have been fundraising via the mountain challenge since 1993.
Jemima Cooke, an apprentice surveyor based at our Stafford office said: “It was great for Fisher German to support such a worthy cause. It was a touch challenge but we had a lot of laughs along the way!”
Antonia Wyatt, Senior Planner based at our Ashby office said: “We are thrilled that we managed to not only achieve but exceed our original target and it was wonderful knowing that so many people supported us. We all enjoyed ourselves so much so we will be signing up again next year”.
