The Team & Focus of the Role

 
The GIS team work on projects across the country and across all divisions on the business. The team’s work is the key stone to a lot of projects. 
 
The team utilise a lot of technology, including FME, to be able to deliver the GIS and data solutions to their clients and colleagues. Their work covers many areas of this specialism from creating maps and geographic datasets to field-based data capture, using FME to streamline and automate processes wherever possible.
 
We are looking for a new member of the team with experience in FME to support the data solutions services growth to clients and internally within the business. The successful candidate will have knowledge of FME Form and be able to build their own workspaces. They will have experience of working with ESRI Arc Pro and they may have experience of working with FME Flow or use of Python. They will have a passion to automate processes and find better ways of working.
 
This a full-time (37.5 hours) permanent role, based at our Estates office in Ashby. We also operate a hybrid working policy.

Duties will include:

• Working with ArcGIS Pro on GIS projects for a wide range of clients from small one-off plans to major national projects.
• Preparing data for projects from initial stages of collating OS data, Land Registry data and client data 
• Preparing plans and mail merge data to support large project deliveries for land referencing
• Managing individual requests via our ticketing system
• Liaison direct with both internal and external clients for both existing ongoing work and new work streams.
• Be able to build simple FME Form Workspaces and may have experience of FME Flow.
• May have experience of using and writing scripts in Python or other relevant languages. 
 

The successful candidate will have...

• 2 years’ experience in GIS role
• Fully proficient on ArcGIS Pro
• Experience using FME Form 
• Able to manage workloads on multiple projects at once. 
• Able to communicate with both internal clients and external clients.
• Keen problem solver, able to think of innovative solutions to geospatial data challenges
 

Desirable

• Experience using FME Flow
• Knowledge of Geoserver
• Experience in programming language (Python, R or Similar)
• GNSS/Land Survey Experience
